Ice Dream Land sits a little out of Plett’s centre, on Robberg Road near the airport, and the slight remove is part of its character. This is Italian done with intent — the kind of place where pizza dough is rolled to order, the wood-fired oven is the kitchen’s centrepiece, and gelato is made fresh every morning before doors open.
The menu is short by design. Pizza Margherita that respects the original. Mozzarella and burrata that arrive properly. A handful of classics executed with the kind of attention that makes the difference between Italian-flavoured and Italian. The gelato is its own draw — pistachio that tastes like pistachio, chocolate that doesn’t cheat.
The Forest Bar extends the day. Cappuccinos and croissants in the morning. Aperitivos through the afternoon. Live music in the evenings. The outdoor seating area uses the climate properly — open enough to feel like Italy, sheltered enough to feel like Plett.
